Kindness lives here

A decade on from the original Small Acts of Kindness campaign, the new Small Acts of Kindness campaign is here. On 20 May, NSW Health Secretary Susan Pearce AM officially launched the new Small Acts of Kindness campaign and videos at the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH).

The campaign highlights and celebrates NSW Health’s culture of kindness through video storytelling. It features real life stories from NSW Health staff, volunteers, patients and their families talking about the huge difference a small act of kindness can make.

We are incredibly proud of Cindy Oxley (pictured second from left) who has been a valued Ward Clerk in the Haematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Radiation Oncology Ward at POWH for nine years. Cindy and her impactful work are featured in the District’s Small Acts of Kindness video. She was inspired to become a Ward Clerk after witnessing the kind and compassionate care her mother received at the end of her life.

POWH patient, Kate Carey (pictured second from right) is featured in the video with Cindy. At a time when Kate and her family needed it most, Cindy’s kindness provided a bright light during dark days.

You can watch their bond and journey in their video on the Kindness Lives Here Hub.

If you missed the launch, take a moment to watch the live recording here.
